North Carolina says Thursday it has now ended an investigation into the workings and culture of the university's football program.
The end comes as it was announced defensive coordinator Steve Belichick will resign his position at the end of his medical leave on October 27.
In a comprehensive statement from UNC, the school says "the investigation determined that certain actions demonstrated a disregard for Carolina’s values and standards of conduct. The investigation also found that these actions were isolated in scope and not a systemic failure."
UNC also added "all necessary corrective actions are now underway and will be overseen by Carolina Athletics and the Office of University Counsel. With these actions, the University considers the investigation to be resolved.
UNC also mentioned the departure of General Manager Michael Lombardi on September 3 within the statement.
In an unrelated incident stemming from a police stop in Chapel Hill Tuesday night, and added to the end of Thursday's statement, Carolina Football has suspended Keeyun Chapman from the team indefinitely.
Chapman and teammate C.J. Sadler were cited by police in the stop. Chapman was cited for a concealed weapon. Sadler was cited for speeding.
