The National Hockey League announced Friday the 2025-26 NHL All-Rookie Team, which includes Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Alexander Nikishin.
Nikishin set a new franchise record for goals as a rookie blueliner (11). He and Justin Faulk are the only Carolina defensemen to earn the honor.
Also on this year's team, three players voted as finalists for the Calder Memorial Trophy: defenseman Matthew Schaefer of the New York Islanders as well as forwards Ivan Demidov of the Montreal Canadiens and Beckett Sennecke of the Anaheim Ducks.
Goaltender Jakub Dobes of the Montreal Canadiens, and forward Jimmy Snuggerud of the St. Louis Blues round out the six.
Voting was conducted by the Professional Hockey Writers Association at the conclusion of the regular season.
